In Tanzania
Books4Tanzania is a small, independent and new organisation especially interested in rural and school libraries outside of the mainstream. We have built up a network of local contacts in Tanzania, but always welcome more.
Can you help us?
We are now able to achieve the transportation of books in a reasonably cost effective and safe manner. It can be done, but any ideas on improving our shipping process will be welcome. Our Trustees have made a policy decision to ship our Book Boxes commercially. This works extremely well, gets our books to beneficiaries in Tanzania in a week, and allows Internet tracking - but it is costly.
Most importantly, we need volunteers who are able to oversee shipments of books and deliver them to rural locations. We remain extremely grateful to those in Tanzania who support us.
Can we help you?
We would like to absorb ideas from others working in Tanzania and from Tanzanians, especially on how we can help you! We like to identify beneficiaries before we send Book Boxes.
